This article is meant to help you start using tags.
Tags are a way for you to keep contextual information about your customers. They are designed to be simple, because that leaves you more flexibility in how you apply it. There are a few different ways to add tags to people, and a few different systems that you can utilize to keep track of how people interact with your theatre. You can see the tags on your Customer list, but we'll get back to that
Tags are one of our first "true" CRM features, and it's only the beginning. So if you find yourself wanting more, or have feedback on our implementation, make sure to reach out to magnus@culmas.io
Creating a Tag
The first thing you need to do, is create a Tag! This is done under People -> Tags. Once here, you simply click the "Add Tag" button in the top, choose a name and color, and you're off to the races! Below you'll see a list of all the Tags you have created. You can also edit the individual Tags by clicking the three little dots - also known as the "Quick Actions".
Adding Tags to Customers
There are two ways of adding Tags to Customers. One is done through the Product page, where Tags can be added dynamically to people who purchase a Product. The second way is manually adding a tag to a Customer on the Customer list. We'll be going through each of them below.
Adding Tags through products
Let's try creating a Product, and scrolling all the way to the bottom. Here you'll find the Tags section. Select a Tag that you've previously created, and you've now assigned the Tag to the product.
Whenever a Customer purchases this product, the Tag you selected will be added to them. If you move a Customer to this product, the Tag will also be added to them.
Adding tags manually
If you navigate to the Customer list, you'll see a column called Tags. If you've already created a few and attached them to Products, you might even see a few Tags in the column. Clicking on the three Quick Action dots on the right of each customer, and clicking "Edit", allows you to change the Tags. This means that you can either remove a Tag, or add new ones easily.
Using Tags
Tags can be utilized in a number of ways. Wanna know everyone who's ever been to a Thursday show? Easy peasy! Wanna see a cross-section between people who attended 1A and also took a workshop? That's just three clicks away!
On the Customer list, you will find three dots next to the search bar. This expands the Table options, where you can find the Tags filtering. Selecting Tags will show you everyone who has that Tag. This is useful for when you just want to see everyone who has ever received a Tag. However, if you want to be a bit more specific, the dartboard icon next to the filtering box lets you use "Exact matches", meaning that you will only see the people who has the exact tags you selected, and nothing more. This is useful if you, for example, want to see people who took Level 1A, but not Level 1B.
